What is IFP Buddies?
As an IFP student, you can sign up to the IFP Buddies scheme to be allocated an Undergraduate student in the subject area of your preferred progression subject for the upcoming academic year. This Undergraduate student will be able to provide support and guidance from their own experiences as you start to submit your UCAS applications.
-
Who can sign up?
Any IFP student can sign up to be allocated a Buddy Leader. The aim of the initiative is to support you as you start to apply to Undergraduate study at the University of Edinburgh. The Buddy Leader will share their experiences of being a student within this degree programme, the courses they have taken, and any advice they may be able to provide that could help inform your decision.
-
What happens if I want to apply to a combined or join-honours degree?
You are able to sign up with up to three preferred progression subjects. This could be because you are still choosing between two or more programmes, or you are intending on studying a joint-honours degree. You will be allocated a Buddy that is studying within one of these subjects, however due to the availability and capacity of the Buddies, it is likely that you will be allocated just one Buddy - regardless of how many preferred progression subjects you include.
-
Can I change my mind about the degree I want to do?
You are not obliged to apply for a degree that you have included in your sign-up, or that your Buddy is studying. The preferred progression subjects that you sign up with simply help us match you with a Buddy that can provide relevant and useful guidance.
